The City of Lubbock unveiled a campaign to conserve our most precious resource, water.

Mayor Pro-Tem Karen Gibson and program organizer David Putnam promoted the water smarter campaign.

It centers on being aware of when water usage is restricted, and how much we use.

"We may have 100 year water supply plan, but we don't have a 100 year water supply," Putnam said. It's not that we want folks to water less, it's just that we want them to water smarter."

A series of educational seminars on water conservation will be featured on the city's local access channel.
