At 12:30 p.m. Lubbock Police responded to a one-vehicle wreck involving a cement truck.
According to the police, the cement truck was traveling eastbound on the Marsha Sharp freeway near Toledo Avenue when a tire blew out on the rig causing the driver to lose control.
After the tire blew out the truck ran into the guardrail causing the truck to spin and eventually turn over on its side causing cement to spill across the westbound lanes.
Traffic has been reduced down to one lane in the area and the on-ramp at Quaker Avenue is currently closed.
The driver of the cement truck was transported to UMC with moderate injuries and is in satisfactory condition. The only other damage to report was a vehicle that was hit by some of the concrete, but no other injuries.
We will continue to update the story throughout the day as we get more details.
