First responders answered two separate calls for vehicle incidences that involved buildings.
The first, a local restaurant was on the losing side of a collision with the back end of a semi. An awning and the corner of the Catfish Connoisseurs building at 47th Street and Interstate 27 are damaged. Police said the truck driver apparently backed into the structure accidentally. No one was inside the building at the time.
Meanwhile, two homes at the corner of 37th Street and Salem Avenue were damaged when a driver lost control of a mini-van. Police said the woman was driving north, turned too wide and too fast, hit a curb, and kept going. No injuries were reported.
