It was on the cool and breezy side today. North winds picked up around lunch time to around 20-30 mph across West Texas. Below is a picture of some peak wind gusts.

Here are today's numbers (see below). We were below average; however, I was outside today and it was quite nice. It's hard to believe that we are in February. Where was winter?

The frontal boundary that moved through is now across South Texas and Louisiana. This is sparking off a few thunderstorms and showers. An area of low pressure is still drifting across the intermountain west. Winds will start to decrease tonight and remain from the north. High cloudiness will remain tonight and tomorrow. Expect another cool day for Super Bowl Sunday. Clouds will mix with sun and our winds will be light.

The low will finally weaken and move through the panhandles on Tuesday. Models are having trouble coming together on moisture return and timing of a surface front on Tuesday. There is a very slight chance for rain or even snow. Looks like Lubbock may miss out; best chances to see precipitation will be north of Lubbock.

As you can tell in my 7-day, cloudiness will continue for the next several days. Moisture will return on Thursday as another upper-level low tracks across the Baja. This will fetch up moisture across South Texas. There will be a slight chance to see some rain creep up here Thursday or Friday. Another surface front will move through around this time and will help generate some shower activity. We should know more about this system in the next few days

Have a great Saturday evening! I will have your full forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
