Texas Tech was ranked No. 5 among rhe "Top 25 University Fundraising Teams for 2013" by Michael Chatman, founder of Philanthropy Speakers Agency. The rankings were based on overall satisfaction from donors and fundraising professionals who work for the universities.
Chancellor Kent Hance used the word "historic" to describe the past year's success. Tech just completed a campaign that raised more than $1 billion.
Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, Brigham Young and Massachusetts Institute of Technology were the top four ranked development teams. The University of Texas ranked seventh, Rice took the place of 13th, and Texas A&M was ranked 18th.
