The city and county-wide total for uninsured storm damage is now fixed.

Keith Smith, Lubbock's chief operating officer, reported assessment estimates for uninsured public and private property total more than $5.4 million. Smith said uninsured damage to Lubbock Power and Light's infrastructure accounts for about $1 million of that. The total also includes the city's costs for cleanup, repairs and overtime, uninsured damage at Texas Tech, and what city and county residents and business owners reported on damage assessment forms.

Smith said the amount is not enough to qualify for a request for federal assistance.
