Funeral services for a slain deputy sheriff took place in Big Lake.
Regan County Deputy Josh Mitchell was fatally shot on August 1st by Marcus Wayne Madison who holed up inside his home.
As Mitchell approached the home to discuss some recent complaints, Madison murdered the deputy which led to a 17-hour standoff.
SWAT teams from Lubbock County and DPS entered the house to subdue the suspect. That's when Madison shot himself in the face. He died last night at a hospital in San Angelo.
