The people of Hobbs might be feeling a bit "spooked". And who could blame them? The billion-dollar scientific "ghost town" that was set to be built there is suddenly history. It vanished before it could ever appear.
Pegasus Global Holdings is the company behind the plan, and Robert Brumley, Managing Director of the project, said the decision comes due to "very complicated and unforeseen issues with acquiring land."
Pegasus wants to keep the location in New Mexico, and said it will test everything from renewable energy innovations to intelligent traffic systems and next-generation wireless networks.
