A regular Friday night at Jake's Sports Cafe was thrown into a frenzy after an overnight shooting sent three people to the hospital.
"A male Hispanic fired a couple of shots, left by the back door, and came outside and fired a couple more shots," Manager John Edwards said.
Following the chaos outside, Edwards said he focused on getting information before the suspect sped off.
"A female got out of the pickup, told the shooter to get inside the truck, which he did," Edwards said, "and they left going east on 50th. I got the tag number, and a description of the shooter and the pickup truck."
Lubbock Police reported the three victims were sent to Covenant Hospital, two with serious non-life threatening injuries.
"Second time we heard it, I realized it was gun fire," Manager on duty Dave Brulotte said, "and so I was grabbing people, shoving them and telling them to get in the back room and get down."
A Persian Gulf War veteran, Brulotte said protecting customers was his first instinct.
"It seemed like several minutes, but it was probably just a minute or two," Brulotte said. "I really don't even know how long the gunfire was going on. A lot of people did a great job last night, and for some reason I am pin-pointed, but everybody did a great job."
LPD reported they have potential suspect, Adrian Deanda Jr. He in custody on unrelated charges.
The investigation is still ongoing.
