Post Office employees in every congressional district rallied Tuesday in support of a house resolution that would change the structure of postal service spending and potentially leave the USPS in the black indefinitely.
Post Office employees argue that they have a financial burden that doesn't apply to other agencies. That burden is having to pre-fund retiree benefits. Postal Service representatives say that few other government agencies are required to pay retirement benefits for future employees. They say the USPS is profitable if this requirement is waived.
