A stalwart member of Lubbock's medical community, long-time pediatric psychiatrist Valerie Robinson, has died.
She spent 39 years in the field, most recently in the Department of Neuropsychiatry at the TTUHSC.
She came to Lubbock in 2003. That is the year she was appointed by the governor to the Texas State Medicaid Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
She was also a Distinguished Fellow with the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
These accolades are only a few of a long list.A friend called her a pioneer in her field, who touched many, many lives.
Services are Tuesday at First Methodist Church at 3 p.m.
