A Lubbock man died on Highway 82 Saturday, after troopers said he overcorrected and ran into a ditch in Yoakum County. It happened near County Road 435 near Plains. DPS reported 54-year-old Scott Edward Zapalac was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
