It's a green light for new interchanges in west Lubbock.
The Metropolitan Planning organization gave the go-ahead to seek state approval for the proposed Marsha Sharp freeway and Milwaukee Avenue interchange project. The interchange will likely include separate freeway bridges over Milwaukee Avenue
and a few hundred yards south over Spur 327.
The plan was authorized and funded several years agriculture but now actually has a construction timetable beginning in 2013, one year ahead of schedule. The Texas transportation commission recently allotted the Lubbock Region $16.5 million dollars for priority projects.
