It is official. I work at the airport and Delta has announced that as of April 1st they no longer plan to service Lubbock. Delat is cutting about 40% of their flights to and from Memphis. Memphis was a NWA hub and Delta prefers Atlanta. This move is purely economical and has happened 2 other times in Lubbock concerning Delta.

I recently checked Delta.com again, and they are no longer selling tickets to Lubbock beyond May 1.

If you try to book an economy ticket on Delta.com from Memphis to Lubbock after May 1, the prices jump dramatically to around $1600 r/t. You could fly across the globe for that amount! Perhaps Delta's intention to drop Lubbock leaked out but remains unofficial?

Is this correct? No other news agency in the city has mentioned Delta's departure from the Lubbock market, again. Also, neither Delta.com nor the Delta Airlines employee travel/nonrev website indicate that Delta is ending LBB-MEM service. Can someone verify?!!
