Arrest made in Sunday morning crash

A Texas Tech student arrested on intoxication manslaughter and aggravated assault charges for a weekend crash that killed three people. According to LPD 26-year-old Brian Hawthorne lost control of his pickup in the 500 block of University Avenue, flipped it, and struck 68-year-old Cortland Whitmore who was riding his bike on the sidewalk.

Whitmore and Hawthorne's two passengers, 23-year-old Arturo Almaguer and 27-year-old Kendrick Johnson, were killed. Hawthorne in the custody of sheriff's deputies while he's still hospitalized with injuries from the crash. His bond is $150,000 dollars.
