Three Lubbock Water Utilities employees were arrested on first degree felony theft charges. According to police reports, investigators linked parts sold to a metal recycling business to the City Water Utilities Department.
Ramauldo Guerrero, Juan Carlos Sanchez, and Jesus Martinez Flores are accused of stealing brass and copper water meter fittings over a three year period.

The total value of the parts estimated at between $20,000 and $100,000. The charges are upgraded against the three suspects since they are public servants.

A statement from the city says an internal investigation into the allegations is underway.

It is horrible when public servants take items, or accept services on terms more favorable than granted to the public. They should ALL be punished, along with their accomplices on the payroll that helped to protect them from justice. Let's get all corrupt employees off the payroll, before they steal more items, or unqualified salaries from the treasury.

This is one reason the city charges each residence a $28.00 water meter fee, when such meters can be read and maintained for about $5.00. We already know the verdict. The court of public opinion has already declared them as guilty. It appears that those criminals on the municipal payroll, responsible for high meter rates and high rain fees, need to be removed from the payroll, stripped of assets, and put into indentured servitude.
