Late Monday afternoon, former Lubbock County GOP Chairman Chris Winn filed to run against District 19 Congressman Randy Neugebauer for a second time. Winn lost to Neugebauer in the 2012 primary, but he did win 35 percent of the vote. This time, however, there is a third candidate, Lubbock physician Donald May.

Inethia Taff will run against incumbent County Clerk Kelly Pinion for the Republican nomination.

Precinct Four Justice of the Peace Jean Anne Stratton picked up a primary opponent in Margaret Anne Brown.

Heath Rudder will run against appointee Brenda Jean Willis for constable in Precinct Four.
