NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A publicist who worked with nationally syndicated radio and TV personality David Kidd Kraddick says Kraddick has died at a charity golf event in greater New Orleans. He was 53.
Ladd Biro of the public relations firm Champion Management told The Associated Press that Kraddick died Saturday at a tournament to raise money for his Kidd's Kids charity.
"He died doing what he loved," Biro says.
No cause of death was given.
Biro says the "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning" show is syndicated by YEA Networks and heard on more than 75 radio stations. The show's cast is seen weeknights on nationally syndicated TV show "Dish Nation."
YeaNetworks said in a statement that the show's crew is "heartbroken over the loss of our dear friend and leader."
Fans mourn loss
DALLAS (AP) — Fans of radio personality David "Kidd" Kraddick have mourned his sudden death with flowers and condolences written on signs left outside his Dallas-area studio.
The website of Kraddick's flagship station KHKS, known as KISS-FM, featured his photo Sunday and remembrances of his career.
A publicist says Kraddick died Saturday at a charity golf event he sponsored near New Orleans. Kraddick was 53. No cause of death was immediately released.
Kraddick had worked in the Dallas radio market since the mid-1980s. His "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning" program was syndicated by YEA Networks.
Fans left online comments such as "morning drive to work in the Dallas traffic will not be the same with out your voice." Another fan wrote "he will be missed."
