Two dead, four injured in SW Lubbock County collision

Two people are killed, and four are injured in a collision between a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler. The mishap happened at the intersection of FM 179 and FM 41, south of Wolfforth.

DPS troopers report the driver of the northbound semi, 68-year-old Joseph Gibson of Panhandle, may have run a stop sign. He has minor injuries. The pickup driver, 54-year-old Humberto Olvera of Wilson, and 25-year-old Veronica Rodriguez died at the scene.

Troopers report the woman's 3-year-old daughter Michelle, the child's 24-year-old father Refugio Olvera, and his 54-year-old mother Anatolia Olvera are hospitalized. Their conditions have been stabilized.
