High-altitude balloon may be visible today

NASA launched a high-altitude research balloon Wednesday, which may drift across West Texas. The image to the right is of the balloon before launch.

- for a real-time track from NASA. Because these balloons are more than 120,000 feet off the ground they are visible for a long distance. Balloons last week over Muleshoe and Canyon were visible across much of West Texas and Eastern New Mexico.
