It turned out to be a pretty nice day with most of us starting off in the mid to upper 30s and warming into the mid to upper 60s this afternoon. Below is a look at some of our morning lows and afternoon highs from today.
A few locations could start off with a light freeze tomorrow morning but most of us will be in the mid 30s much like today. We will stay under a partly cloudy sky but a breezy southwest wind up to 25mph will help us warm into the mid 70s. There could be a few sprinkles across the region tomorrow afternoon and evening but even the chances for that do not look good.
The breezy southwest wind will continue overnight into Saturday morning and then will really pick up some steam by the afternoon. You can expect sustained wind speeds between 25-35mph with gusts up to 45mph and with the cotton harvest taking place and many bare cotton fields out there it is likely we will see dust and dirt blown around.
The wind continues during the first half of the day on Sunday as a cold front moves through but will relax by the afternoon. Temperatures behind the front will be about 10-15 degrees cooler with near freezing temperatures in the morning and upper 50s to lower 60s in the afternoon. We will only warm by a few degrees as we progress throughout the week with quiet weather expected.
If you plan on heading out to Arlington for the Texas Tech game at the Dallas Cowboy's Stadium you might run into some storms while tailgating. Of course the game won't be affected since it is indoors but there is a slight chance for storms in the afternoon. The Texas Tech Game Day Forecast is below.
I hope you had a great day! I will step you through the forecast tonight on the News at Nine and Matt will have an updated forecast for you tomorrow morning.
