We started off the day with strong wind that blew some dust and dirt around but that wind has backed off this evening. The strong west wind helped keep our temperatures above average both this morning and afternoon. Below is a look at some of our morning lows and afternoon highs from today.

A weak cold front will move through tomorrow but this will only cool down our temperatures by a few degrees from today. The main thing the front will do is shift the wind to the north, but that being said the wind won’t be that strong, only about 10-20mph. Almost identical conditions can be expected on Saturday with the wind shifting back to the south. The south wind will pick up next week helping to warm our temperatures into the upper 70s and lower 80s each day until a stronger cold front clears the region on Thursday.

We have been monitoring the potential for some rain on Tuesday but it continues to look like we will miss out. A dry line will set up just off the Caprock and move east in the afternoon with showers and storms forming to the east of the boundary. This means that rain will likely miss us to the east with only our eastern most communities having a slight chance at some rain.

I hope you had a great day! I will step you through the forecast tonight on the News at Nine and Matt will have a complete updated forecast for you tomorrow morning.
