This morning wasn’t quite as cold as yesterday morning but we were still pretty chilly as we started off mainly in the mid 20s. Temperatures this afternoon were about 15-20 degrees warmer than yesterday afternoon as we topped out in the low to mid 60s. One reason for this was a steady south wind from 15-25mph. Below is a look at some of our morning lows and afternoon highs from today.
Tomorrow we will be even warmer with afternoon highs in the upper 70s and lowers 80s with the wind from the south/southwest from 15-25mph. A weak front will move through late tomorrow night into early Thursday shaving off about five degrees from the afternoon high. Moisture will start to increase on Thursday and we should see an increase in clouds but rain chances look slim.
Our chances for rain start to look better on Friday, although they are still not great. A dryline should setup somewhere along the eastern edge of the Caprock and our best chances for rain will be to the east of this boundary, mainly late Friday evening. All chances for rain exit the area over the weekend and another weak cold front will move through late Saturday into early Sunday. Easter Sunday currently looks like it will be very nice, with a low of 49, high of 73, mostly sunny conditions and just a light breeze.
Rain chances look to return on Monday although models continue to disagree on the overall setup for the beginning of next week. Whether we see rain or strong wind and how big of a cool down we will get with another cold front all depends on the track of a low pressure system which is currently off the west coast. As this system gets closer we will be able to give a more confident forecast for the beginning to middle of next week.
