We started off the day with temperatures slightly below average but thanks to breezy south winds and high pressure moving in overhead our temperatures warmed to the upper 70s and lower 80s this afternoon. Below is a look at some of our morning lows and afternoon highs from today.
Clouds will stick around tonight leading to milder temperatures tomorrow morning. Clouds should thin out some by the afternoon and temperatures will be even warmer as we top out in the mid to upper 80s. The wind won’t be quite as strong as we expect a sustained west wind from 10-20mph. Sunday will be almost an exact carbon copy of tomorrow.
An upper-level low pressure with swoop through the Great Plains and will really kick up the wind for us on Monday and Tuesday. The exact wind speeds are hard to forecast this far out but you can expect windy conditions on both of those days. This will also push a cold front through our area sometime on Tuesday. Depending on when the front moves through will determine what our afternoon temperatures are on Tuesday but it currently looks like we should still warm into the 70s ahead of the front. Wednesday will be a different story though as we will be cool, starting off in the 30s and only warming into the 50s and 60s. This cool down will be short lived though as we warm right back into the 70s by the end of the week. Rain chances with this system don’t look great as moisture should be held to the east of us, but if any of us were to see rain it looks like it would be late Tuesday across the Rolling Plains.
I will step you through the forecast tonight on the News at Nine and Caitlin will have all the updates for you this weekend.
