Thanks to a steady increase of moisture across the region yesterday and overnight we had milder temperatures this morning. The added moisture also helped more clouds develop this afternoon but rain chances still remain near zero and afternoon temperatures were still warm. Below is a look at some of our morning lows and afternoon highs from today.

For the area high school football games it will be a little warm but overall pretty nice. The temperature at kickoff will be around 90° with the temperature cooling into the lower 80s by the end of the games. The mostly clear sky conditions will continue with a south/southeast breeze around 5-15mph.

Tomorrow will shape up a lot like today meaning it will be warm for tailgate time and kickoff of the first Texas Tech home football game but other than that the weather should be pretty nice. Below is a look at the gameday forecast.

As the center of high pressure which is currently north of us continues to move east and farther away from us we will cool by a degree or two each day. By the middle of next week our afternoon highs will stay in the 80s. Even with the high pressure system out of the region our rain chances still don’t look good as there will be no good lifting mechanism nearby.

I hope you had a great day! I will step you through the forecast tonight on the News at Nine and Caitlin will have all the forecast updates for you this weekend.
