We are wrapping up just a gorgeous day as we sat under a sunny sky, held a light breeze and had temperatures warm into the upper 60s and lower 70s this afternoon. This was after starting off the morning on a chilly note, with most of us below freezing, many in the 20s. Below is a look at some of our morning lows and afternoon highs from today.
We could see a few high clouds work their way across the region tomorrow but we should still see plenty of sunshine. The wind will shift back to the south overnight and become quite breezy tomorrow afternoon. This will help pump in warmer air and along with a ridge of high pressure moving in overhead will warm our temperatures to above average until the middle of next week. The wind both tomorrow and on Saturday will be somewhere in the range of 15-25mph with some gusts in excess of 35mph.
Sunday is shaping up to be very nice as the wind shouldn’t be as strong but temperatures will still be pleasant. This will be the nice day before what looks like a pair of windy days to start off next work week. An upper-level low pressure system will dive down across the region during the beginning of next week but it currently looks like all the moisture will be held to the east of us. This means that instead of rain we will likely see windy conditions on both Monday and Tuesday. This could change as we are talking about something that will take place about five days from now plus even though models have come into better agreement today they have been fairly inconsistent with this setup. Another element that will come into play is a cold front that will get pushed through during this time frame. This cold front looks to be pretty strong, cooling us down by about 20 degrees, but that cool down shouldn’t last long.
