We are wrapping up another hot day with temperatures well above average both this morning and afternoon. Below is a look at some of our morning lows and afternoon highs from today.

It will get even hotter over the next couple of days with most of us warming into the triple digits. We have a forecast high of 101 tomorrow and 100 on Thursday which is just shy of the daily record high for both days of 106. We should avoid the century mark on Friday and Saturday with highs in the upper 90s. For comparison sake, the average high for the rest of the week is 89 degrees.

A cold front will move through some time between late Saturday and early Sunday. The front will cool us down by about 10-15 degrees with highs in the mid to upper 80s expected at the beginning of next week. We also have a slight chance for storms starting late Saturday and throughout the day on Sunday. That doesn’t mean we will see storms throughout that entire time frame rather any storms we see will likely be at any given time during that time frame. When exactly an upper-level disturbance and its associated cold front moves through will determine our storm chances and the timing of them. Stay tuned!

I hope you had a great day! I will step you through the forecast tonight on the News at Nine and Matt will have a complete updated forecast for you tomorrow morning.

Chance for storms this week
A cold front moving through the Panhandle and South Plains will bring multiple changes to the area in the coming days. This could mean rain and a big cool down compared to the near 100 degree temperatures we've seen.
