A cold front moved through the South Plains yesterday and set us up with really nice weather today. Our temperatures both this morning and this afternoon were about 5-10 degrees below average. Below is a look at some of our morning lows and afternoon highs from today.
New Mexico has been dealing with heavy rain over the past several days which has led to severe flooding and major problems throughout parts of the state. Some of the monsoonal moisture that has been feeding the heavy rains across the state will move towards us tomorrow and Monday. This will lead to a slight chance for a few showers and thunderstorms although with high pressure close by our chances aren’t that great. Tomorrows rain chances will be held mainly to the west of Lubbock while all of us have a least a slight chance on Monday.
By Tuesday the high pressure system will be too close to us for any real rain chances. This will also help warm our temperatures back into the upper 90s by the middle of the week. Right now there doesn’t look to be a change in this pattern at least for the next 7 days.
I hope you had a great day! I will step you through the forecast tonight on the News at Nine and Matt will be filling in for Caitlin tomorrow.
