We’ve been watching a few storms move across the Texas Panhandle and into western Oklahoma today. While none of this rain has made it down into the South Plains so far, these storms did push an outflow boundary down across the area and where is sets up this afternoon will be where we will have our best chance for storms. Right now this looks like it will be somewhere from the central South Plains to the edge of the Caprock. Even with this boundary in place to try to help ignite a few storms our storm chances don’t look all that great. You can watch any potential storms form and move across the region with our live streaming radar below.
We did see a few showers yesterday but coverage was very spotty and rainfall amounts nothing to brag about. Click here for a look at the 24 hour rainfall totals from the West Texas Mesonet sites. If any storms were to form today it will likely turn out a lot like yesterday. We have another slight chance for a few storms tomorrow but then after that the center of high pressure moves closer to us and our rain chances diminish.

Temperatures will continue to be hot for all of us. We will start off the mornings in the low to mid 70s with afternoon temperatures warming into the mid to upper 90s each day. There are no good signs for an overall change in the weather pattern over the next week.

I hope you had a great day! I will step you through the forecast tonight on the News at Nine and Caitlin will fill in for Matt tomorrow morning.
