A cold front moved through today and set us up with breezy and cooler conditions although it wasn’t nearly as cold as the end of last week. Below is a look at some of our morning lows and afternoon highs from today.
We will stay under a partly cloudy sky tonight and throughout the day tomorrow as Pacific moisture continues to stream in the mid to upper levels of the atmosphere. Our temperatures tomorrow morning will still be cold, starting off in the upper teens and lower 20s but we will warm into the upper 40s in the afternoon. The wind will shift from north to south overnight but remain fairly light, only about 5-15mph during the day tomorrow.
A low pressure system that has been sitting off the west coast will head our away and even though it will break up and lose a lot of its organization we should still have a decent amount of lift move overhead late tomorrow into Friday. This lift could spark off a few showers tomorrow evening mainly to the south/southeast of Lubbock. All rain should be to the east of us by Friday morning when temperatures dip back down to a light freeze.
A breezy west/southwest wind on Friday will bring in drier air pushing all moisture to the east of us and warming our temperatures into the upper 50s/lower 60s. Another weak cold front moves through early Saturday cooling down our afternoon highs by about ten degrees but we warm back into the 60s next week with sunny to mostly sunny conditions expected.
I hope you had a great day! I will step you through the forecast tonight on the News at Nine and Matt will have a complete updated forecast for you tomorrow morning.
