A weak cold front has moved into our northern counties and some showers and storms have developed along this boundary today although we don’t expect many more to develop tonight. However, we are also monitoring a cluster of storms in eastern New Mexico that is slowly moving to the east/northeast. If these storms can stay together once the sun sets they could work their way into our western, especially northwestern counties tonight. You can watch our live streaming radar below.
Live video from your Android device on UstreamWe will continue to have a slight chance of rain and storms the next couple of afternoons and evenings mainly in our northern counties. Most of this activity looks like it will stay to the north of us and most of us will miss out on any rain. While temperatures will still be hot this week they won’t be quite as hot as last week as we mainly stay in the mid to upper 90s for afternoon highs.
You will be seeing a lot of me the next several days as I will be working again tomorrow evening as well as the morning and evening shows on Monday. I will have an update on our rain chances and have your full forecast tonight on the News at Nine.

** Tropical Storm Ernesto continues to move west across the southern Caribbean. The latest National Hurricane Center Track has it taking a northwesterly turn toward the Yucatan Peninsula and perhaps towards the Texas coast. We are still over a week away from it affecting us if it even does but we will continue to monitor this storm and keep you updated.**
