Thanks to a front that moved through last night we were left with a breezy and cold day today. Below is a look at some of the morning lows and afternoon highs from today.
The wind will calm this evening as the sun sets and under a mostly clear sky temperatures will cool back down into the 20s tomorrow morning, maybe even a few teens where there is still some snow on the ground. There is also a slight chance for some patchy fog to form over areas with snow on the ground but we don’t expect anything too serious on that front.
Temperatures tomorrow will be a bit milder as most of us warm into the 50s under a mostly sunny sky. The wind will stay fairly light as well, only about 5-15mph from the northwest.
Our next cold front will move through on Friday. It is still hard to pinpoint the exact timing of when this front will move through and our afternoon temperatures will depend on that. Right now it looks like we will warm into the upper 40s and lower 50s before the front moves through. As the front moves through the wind will shift to the north and become quite breezy. There is also a slight chance for some light snow flurries and sprinkles of rain with the passage of this front but we don’t expect any accumulations if this were to take place. The latest model runs are even backing off of that solution so we might just stay completely dry.
We warm over the weekend eventually warming to the upper 60s and lower 70s at the beginning of next week. The wind will also pickup with the strongest winds expected on Monday. Another front will move through late Monday into Tuesday but again it looks like the passage of this front will be dry. Models are hinting at rain across the region the following weekend but that is too far away to get excited about as anything could change between now and then.
I hope you had a great day and were able to stay warm! If it makes you feel any better tomorrow is the last day of meteorological winter as meteorological spring starts on March 1. I will step you through the forecast tonight on the News at Nine and Matt will have an updated forecast for you tomorrow morning.
