THIS MORNING: It's another cold start beneath a clear sky, some frost across the area. Most cities in our area are in the 10s. In fact, it's a cold start pretty much state-wide, freezing down to Austin, 20s across North Texas and single digits over Oklahoma.

TODAY: The large trough centered over the Great Lakes will slowly pivot east. This will shift colder air farther east and we'll see a southwest wind at the surface around 5-15mph. This is a sign of warmer days...high today generally in the mid 40s across our area beneath a mostly sunny sky. Yesterday's high was only 30...and that was early in the morning, it was in the 20s all day. 46 may feel pretty warm today.

NEXT FRONT: While the trough is building east, another piece of energy will rotate around it. This will send a cold front across our area early tomorrow morning, shifting the wind out of the north and bringing cooler air back into place. Tomorrow will top out in the upper 30s, still mostly sunny. Rest of the week it warms up.

There is a cut-off low off the California coast today. It'll move across our region later this week. A few model runs had shown a little rain here around Friday, but trends are lower today. It'll probably just bring some more clouds for later this week.

The weekend will be warmer, back in the mid 50s.

Have a great day. Rudy will have a full update to the forecast later today.
