HOT WEEKEND: It's a clear sky to start this morning. With high pressure across the region it'll be sunny and hot today, high near 98 in Lubbock, wind SW/S 5-15mph. Sunset tonight is 8:15 p.m., with the 7 p.m. temp mid 90s, mid 80s by 9 p.m. It'll be hot for the first half of tonight's football games here. Here is the area forecast:

TEXAS TECH FORECAST: Blazing heat across North Texas, high around 105 in Dallas. Record for the date is 106. Kickoff temp around 100, falling to the low 90s late in the game, light south wind. Sunset is 7:54 p.m.
NEXT FEW DAYS: Tomorrow will be pretty much a repeat of today in Lubbock. We'll watch a weak front moving into the Panhandle Sunday. We might see an isolated shower or thunderstorm late Sunday and Labor Day, but it's not a good chance. With high pressure close by it should stay in the low 90s through most of next week. The average high is in the upper 80s.
