SUNNY DAYS: With a large upper trough exiting the Great Lakes east nearly all of the nation is looking at quiet weather for the next several days. That's certainly the case here. It's clear with the temperature in the 30s this morning. It'll warm to near 68 in Lubbock today, wind at times breezy from the SW at 10-20mph. Here are the projected highs for the area:
REST OF THE WEEK: The mornings will get milder, generally in the 40s, mainly clear. Tomorrow afternoon we'll see the high in the upper 70s to near 80, then 80s area-wide Friday and Saturday. Record high for Friday is 86, record for Saturday is 87. I don't think we'll get that warm...although some models have been pushing it about that warm. It'll also be breezy heading into the weekend.
Sunday should turn slightly cooler behind a weak front, and the wind may drop slightly. But the start to next week will be mild and breezy. No signs of any rain here for the next week to 10 days.
COMET: To see the Comet Pan-STARRS next several nights look just south of west close to sunset. Better viewing will be away from city lights, but all of our region will have a mainly clear sky, leading to good viewing.
