MORE HOT WEATHER: The ridge of high pressure aloft is still parked over Texas, although it's a little farther east today than yesterday. This means most of the region will get sunny and hot weather today, high near 100 for most of Texas. Here in the city we expect 101, which is a degree shy of the record for the date. Wind SW 10-18mph. The forecast is 100 tomorrow, 98 Thursday here.

Here is the forecast for the area today:

CHANCE FOR RAIN: Most of the area should stay dry next few days. But we are seeing the signals that we might see a few isolated thunderstorms next few days. Each day the better chance will be west, across New Mexico...and also north in the Panhandle. One thing that will lead to a slightly better chance for rain is a front that should be stalled out over the Panhandle through Thursday. That front may eventually move across our area, dropping the temp slightly.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK: The high temp will drop some into the weekend, but will probably stay above the average high of 92. High pressure expands back into the region next week, which means it should turn a little hotter.

Have a great day. Rudy will have a complete update to your forecast later today.
