THIS MORNING: The big upper low that brought us all the rain is slowly edging out of the state to the east, with lots of rain. It's a clear sky here with the temperature near 60. We do still have wet soil and a humid setup.

TODAY: A beautiful sunny day on the way. We may get a few fair-weather clouds this afternoon, but that'll be it. High near 85, wind NE-E 5-15mph.

REST OF THE WEEK: The wet soil and some humidity in the air will keep it from getting too hot, though things will be drying out next few days. We're looking at mid 80s through Friday, then upper 80s/low 90s this weekend. Upper-level ridging is expanding across the region, leading to the hotter days.

Looking west, some afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected over the higher terrain of New Mexico and Colorado next few days. Some of these may try to get east of the state line by late Friday, though it doesn't look too good for rain in our area. If we do see anything it'll likely be northwest of Lubbock.

Next week looks a little warmer.

Have a great day. Rudy will have a full update later today.
