TODAY: It's nearly a copy of yesterday...just about everything this morning is showing up like it did yesterday. With high pressure aloft in the region there won't be many clouds, topping out near 94 in Lubbock. Average high this time of year is 91. Wind today S/SE 5-15mph, sunset 8:26 p.m. An isolated shower or storm is possible somewhere across Eastern New Mexico.

SETUP NEXT FEW DAYS: The center of high pressure aloft is slowly moving from the Four Corners to the Central Plains and Mid Missouri Valley this week. With the high close enough to us it should be mainly sunny through the week. The temperature should drop off a few degrees by the weekend, but not by much.

It should get a bit more humid as the clockwise flow around the ridge brings an onshore flow from the Gulf across Texas. This means good news for the rain setup over the southern half of the state. We are seeing some weak signs of isolated showers or storms the second half of the week into the weekend, but nothing promising at this point.

Have a great day. Rudy will have a complete update to the forecast later today.

More storms possible tonight
The holiday weekend brought us multiple rounds of rain and storms to the South Plains. We will continue to have a chance for more through tonight before we dry up a bit for the start of the work week.
