The cold front that moved through produced the most widespread rainfall. The front will continue to push south and east, bringing rain across Oklahoma and the southeastern half of Texas. For our area it'll be a clearing sky with the high only in the lower to mid 70s, NE wind gradually diminishing.

24-hour rain total shows 0.46" fell at the airport, 0.62" near the Texas Tech campus and 0.16" at Reese Center. Heavier rain of a few inches fell up in the Panhandle, as great as 3.75" at McLean on I-40 in the eastern Panhandle. The good news is we didn't have much in the way of hail across the South Plains. The last thing this cotton crop needs, the cotton that managed to come up in the drought and survive through a number of bad storms, is any hail.

Here are some of the top totals in the area from the Texas Tech Mesonet:

Lamesa 2.19"
Amherst 1.23"
Tulia 0.83"
Olton 0.70"
Hart 0.68"
