MORE HEAT: We hit 100 Friday and Saturday, 96 yesterday. It should edge a few degrees hotter than yesterday next few days. A strong ridge of high pressure is parked over Texas. We expect 99 in Lubbock today, wind SW/S 10-18mph. Sunset is at 8:44 p.m. Meanwhile, scattered showers will again develop across New Mexico, while Texas will hardly have any clouds. Here is the forecast for the area:

It looks slightly hotter tomorrow, around 101 in Lubbock.

WEAK FRONT: A few thunderstorms will develop along a front that should drop into the Panhandle by Wednesday. We could even see a few storms in our area late Wednesday and Thursday, though the better chance is to our west and north.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK: It'll still be hot, but slightly less hot this weekend into next doesn't look like the ridge will be right on top of us like it has been the past few days.

Have a great day. Rudy will have a full update to the forecast later today.
