Rain continues to fall on the area. Some locations have seen over four inches an many places are over an inch already (as of 5:00). For rainfall totals from the last 24 hours, you can visit the Texas Tech West Texas Mesonet website.

As the tropical disturbance to our south continues to provide moisture for the South Plains like it has all day, we will continue with a chance for rain through the morning hours tomorrow. This rain will slowly become more scattered in nature as we approach the morning, especially for our western counties. There could also be some fog in the early morning hours.

You can watch a live stream of our radar below.

With all the moisture in place, temperatures will be well above average for the morning, only dropping into the low 60s and upper 50s. The warmth will carry over into the afternoon especially if you compare it to Sunday, we'll likely get into the upper 70s to low 80s.

As Monday afternoon progresses we will have a gradual tapering off of the rain and clouds from west to east. Locations off the Caprock will see the heaviest rain tomorrow afternoon. There could still be some lingering showers and storms for the central and western portions of the South Plains in the afternoon but don't be surprised if you see the sun peeking through the clouds later in the day.

We are expecting a strong cold front early Tuesday morning. We'll begin near 50 but only see a high in the mid 60s for the day. The cool, dry air mass behind this front will give us mostly clear skies Tuesday but windy conditions from the northeast near 20 mph.

Wednesday will be particularly cold, about twenty degrees below average. Moisture will also creep back into the area bringing us a slight chance for showers in the afternoon with the arrival of another boundary. After that we should warm back into the mid to upper 60s, but that will still be below average.

We are also tracking another chance for rain by the end of the week. We will keep an eye on this system as usual!

Join me for the late News at Nine tonight and I will also be in for Matt tomorrow though Wednesday on Good Day Lubbock. Enjoy the rain!
