There is a continued chance for very isolated thunderstorms and showers just past sunset tonight. We are so dry at the surface, any showers that do develop won't have a great chance of reaching the surface. There could be gusty winds that come along with those thunderstorms, but for the most part, they will fall apart as we lose the heat of the day tonight.

Temperatures have been in the 80s the last couple of days, but it's only going to get warmer from here. Tomorrow morning starting off in the upper 50s with mostly clear skies. Southwest winds at 15 to 20 mph throughout the day along with mostly sunny skies will help us get near 90 for the afternoon.

Tuesday will be even warmer. Similar winds and sun as Monday, but we'll jump into the low 90s, maybe even the mid 90s. The 90 degree temperatures will not last long. An upper level low will drag a cold front through the area Mid morning on Wednesday and that will bring changes.

Winds shift to coming from the north by noon on Wednesday so we'll only get into the upper 60s, maybe even cooler depending on the exact timing of that front. That front brings much cooler temperatures Thursday, starting in the mid to upper 30s and only warming to the upper 50s, and some cloud cover.

There is a very slight chance for rain Thursday off the Caprock, but those chances aren't looking good as of right now. Clouds will clear out throughout the afternoon Thursday and southerly winds return by Friday bumping our temperatures back into the 60s.

The weekend looks to be below average still, but hopefully reaching the 70s by Saturday.

We will be on tonight at nine for more weather, local news and sports!
