Temperatures have been below the low 80 degree average for the last few days, mainly in the mid 70s, but a warm up is on the way. First, we'll have one more day of cooler temperatures and even a chance for some thunderstorms.Streaming by Ustream
Tomorrow morning will start a little below 50, right near average, but clouds in the afternoon will keep us cool with a high in the low 70s. Clouds will build a little throughout the day and bring a slight chance for isolated storms. Dry conditions at the surface will likely keep us from seeing too much rain across the South Plains.
Due to increased moisture and heat from an income low pressure system from the west, we will see a better chance for isolated storms for the next few days. The key word there is isolated, meaning few and far in between and hard to predict. The more moisture we get with that system, the more likely precipitation and storms will be, so we'll keep an eye on those levels for you.
Tuesday, begins the warm up with temperatures in the low 50s to start the day and a high in the mid to upper 80s and winds from the south at 10 to 15 mph. Wednesday will be similar, a little warmer in the morning with a high in the mid to upper 80s.
That low pressure system will get backed up to our northwest creating similar conditions lasting all the way through Friday. Once that low moves on, sometime on Friday we should see a cool down in temperatures for the weekend, back down below normal and drier air will once again take over.
Matt will have your updated forecast in the morning!
