Highs in the low 80s today across the South Plains and it's going to get warming. Lows in the low to mid 50s tomorrow and Monday with highs in the mid to upper 80s and mostly sunny skies. We'll also have light, 5 to 15 mph, south southwesterly winds for Sunday and Monday.
Our biggest concern will be tomorrow afternoon when the heat will provide some energy for storms. They will be isolated in nature with that chance being across the South Plains. The biggest threats with these isolated storms will be gusty winds and small hail. It will be so dry at the surface, we won't be getting much rain, if any at all.
The chance for storms falls apart on Monday morning and mostly sunny skies stick around through Tuesday and Wednesday. That sun and southerly winds will continue to ramp up the temperatures, getting into the low 90s on Tuesday. A cold front arrives shortly after dropping us into the upper 60s on Wednesday and low 60s for Thursday.
There is a slight chance for light showers on Thursday as the cold front exits the area, but once again, we are not too confident in those chances. We'll begin to warm up a little come the end of the week.
