After a chilly day today we will start seeing much warmer temperatures for the start of the week. Lots of sunshine for Monday will help us reach more average temperatures in the mid 60s. The extremely windy conditions we've had over the last couple of days will die down a bit, coming from the west at 10 to 15 mph.
Tuesday morning will begin in the mid 30s with more sun throughout the day. There are some disagreements amongst models still for Tuesday afternoon. A weak system will move across the area, but as of now we're not expecting it to affect us much so should see a high in the low 70s, possibly cooler depending on how strong that system ends up being.
After that the tranquility sets in and we'll have clear skies for much of week with lows near 40 and afternoon highs in the low 70s on Wednesday. We will gradually warm up throughout the week, reaching the upper 70s, maybe even the 80s again for Friday and Saturday making for a lovely week for those of you on spring break.
Clear skies also mean dryness. We don't have much of a chance for rain over the next seven days. The best possibility we have for rain on the South Plains is a system that may develop towards the end of the weekend next week, but it is still too early to tell.
Henry, Rob and I will be on tonight with your News at Nine and Matt will have the updated forecast for you in the morning!
Have a great start to the week!
