We've had a few days of 80 degree temperatures and they aren't going anywhere any time soon. Well above average temperatures will be the case across the South Plains for the next couple of days. Tomorrow morning only dropping down to the low 50s and an afternoon high in the upper 80s with mostly sunny skies.
Very similar conditions stick around through Monday, starting once again near 50 and getting into the high 80s once again and mostly sunny skies.
Tuesday is when we'll start to see some colder air move into the area. A low pressure system will push in the cooler air throughout the afternoon dropping us into the mid 70s, but the real affects from that system arrive overnight Tuesday when we have a slight chance of light rain as a cold front comes through. We aren't expecting much accumulation, if anything, but we are still getting some disagreement with models, so we'll know better when it gets closer.
That system will also bring us some windy conditions Monday through Wednesday. Winds will be from the southwest at 20 to 30 mph on Monday and Tuesday, shifting to coming from the North on Wednesday near 20 to 25 mph.
Wednesday will be the coldest day of the week after that front moves through, dropping us in the afternoon to near 60s, but the end of the week will bring a gradual increase in temperatures, likely up to near 80 by Friday.
Kurt will be filling in for Henry on the News at Nine tonight with Nick and I.
Have a great weekend!
