With the exception of some haze across the area due to a wild fire in Idaho, we saw sunny skies across the South Plains today and that will be the big trend for the next week.

First, we do have a very slight chance for some light showers overnight Monday, but it really isn't looking good. After that, dry will be the story over the next seven days.

A broad and very amplified upper level ridge has developed in full force just to our west and that is keeping our weather pattern very calm. It's also bringing in those slightly cooler temperatures into the area but we are in for a slight warm up.

Tomorrow morning will begin right where we have the last few days, in the mid 60s. We'll get back into the low 90s for the afternoon with southerly winds around 10 to 20 mph. Tuesday will pretty much be the same with a high in the low 90s and sunny skies. That's where we'll level off for the rest of the week as well, as that high sits and spins.

The News at Nine will be on tonight after the football game, join us then!
