We saw a 30° temperature spread today in Lubbock, starting off at 33° and warming up to 63°.

We keep a light breeze overnight, which will help to increase moisture across the region. That added with an increase of cloud coverage overnight will give us milder temperatures on Tuesday morning, starting off in the mid to upper 30s.

We will have slight chances of rain with the possibility of a few weak thunderstorms starting around the Noon hour. Activity on Tuesday will be held mainly to the east of Lubbock across the Rolling Plains. Coverage will increase overnight into Wednesday morning whereby all of us will have a shot at seeing some rain Wednesday, however activity will be hit or miss with unfortunately some people not getting any rain at all. Here are a few glimpses of our in-house computer model showing the setup.

We warm back up at the end of the workweek and look to stay dry through the weekend into next week.

A very powerful storm system hit portions of Dixieland this morning, spawning off several tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail. Several fatalities have already been reported, as well as lots of structure damage. Below is a look at the storm report map.

Have a great evening and be sure to tune in tonight to the News @ Nine as I step you through our chances for rain. As always, our team coverage continues into the morning as Matt will give you an updated look on Good Day Lubbock.
