After several cold days to start off the week temperatures were above average both this morning and afternoon. Below is a look at some of our morning lows and afternoon highs from today.
We will have milder morning temperatures the rest of the week with afternoon temperatures about the same to what they were today. The temperatures won’t be the story though as we will have several chances for rain at the end of this week and again at the beginning of next.
Moisture will continue to increase across the region, and while we don’t expect an abundance of moisture we should have enough for at least a slight chance for a few showers and storms to form as a series of weak upper-level disturbances move overhead. There could be a few isolated showers and storms that form tomorrow evening and night but it looks like the vast majority of us will miss out on this activity if any even forms. On Friday there is a slightly better chance for more widely scattered showers and storms to form and this looks to mainly be late Friday into early Saturday morning. All that being said, these chances are slim, only about 10-20%, so this is nothing to get too excited over just yet.
The weekend will be dry and overall pretty nice. A cold front will move through early Sunday morning and the wind could be a bit breezy as it moves through but should remain fairly light for most of the day. Sunday of course is Easter Sunday and we expect nice weather, with lows in the upper 40s and low 50s and afternoon highs in the low to mid 70s under a mostly sunny sky.
At the beginning of next week a cold front will move through sometime between Monday and Tuesday. It currently looks like we will have a slight chance for some storms ahead of the front with a slightly better chance for scattered rain behind the front. This front will pack a punch, cooling us down by about 20-25 degrees.
Be sure to join us tonight on the News at Night as I will go through some of our different models showing our rain chances. Matt will have an updated forecast for you tomorrow morning.
