At long last Texas Tech football has confirmed the hire of a new defensive coordinator.
Art Kaufman is now the head man on the defensive side of the football for the Red Raiders. He's a 28-year veteran joining Tommy Tuberville's staff from the North Carolina Tarheels.
Kaufman has been a defensive coordinator for 10 years in division 1 football. Under Kaufman's guidance the Heels rose to 48th in the country in total defense this season and 26th nationally in rush defense.
